The sycamore leaves are all the way out now, finally. The tulips and daffodils are totally finished blooming, too. The corn has sprouted, and the rhubarb started making seeds so I clipped them off. The bindweed is going full force, too, unfortunately.

Ferns and Hostas!

The ferns and hostas in the oasis have returned to life! They are still small but at least they are still alive. The maple trees finally have leaves and the planetrees on Village Boulevard are starting to leaf out. Everything has sprouted in the garden except the corn.

The purple smoke tree just started getting some leaves, and the hydrangeas still have just a tiny bit of green at the very bottom, but not enough to notice unless you look really close.

They are alive!

Today I noticed the hydrangeas have a little bit of green at the bottom and at least one of the ferns is starting to wake up. They died back all the way to the ground, which was disconcerting, but they are still alive! The sugar snap peas have also sprouted.

Last night the Vinca Minor arrived, so this afternoon they went into the southeast corner of the oasis. The sprinklers are also installed, although the water pressure is a bit low, so I might have to add one more head.

First Planting

We planted sweet peas, sugar snap peas, carrots (ew!), spinach, and romaine lettuce on March 30 this year, as soon as the grow boxes were finished. Yesterday (April 14) I noticed little sprouts of spinach poking up.

Saturday (April 12) I put in a second round of sweet peas, spinach, romaine lettuce, and some broccoli (just for an experiment).

Daffodils on the south side of the house started blooming about two or three weeks ago, and the tulips are just about ready to bloom.
